Amber Schatz
Amber grew up in Rothsay, Minn. (a.k.a. home of the world’s largest prairie chicken). Her childhood dream was to be the first female quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings. When she discovered that career wasn’t in the cards for her, she decided to pursue another passion: the military.
Attending college at North Dakota State University, Amber was part of the Air Force ROTC program. Immediately after graduating, she was commissioned into the Air Force and left the area for her next great adventure. Amber served 7 years on active duty, living in Salt Lake City, St. Louis, and Korea. During that time, she deployed twice – once to Ecuador and once to Afghanistan.
Afterward, she spent 3 years as a medical diagnostic salesperson in Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, and Texas. In 2016, she joined the North Dakota Air National Guard as a full-time Public Affairs Officer where she continues to serve today.
Amber says she was drawn to Hatch for the family-like culture and the opportunity to help people. She’s grateful for the opportunity to work with the amazing team in Bismarck who truly cares about people in the community.
Amber and her husband, Brock, have 2 children – Madison and Landon. The four share their home (and hearts!) with a small, but mighty, mini-poodle, Jameson.
In her free time, Amber loves watching and playing all kinds of sports. During the school year, you’ll find Amber and her husband at a number of their kids’ sporting events. During the summer, they love spending time at their farm and Lake Tschida in Elgin, N.D., as well as Rothsay and Fish Lake in Minnesota.
Amber’s WHY is to be able to provide her loved ones with new experiences and memories that they will cherish forever.
An interesting fact that Amber shared is that the original Vikings did not wear horned helmets as we see in the Minnesota Vikings logo today.
