Jacy grew up in Buchanan, ND – population of 100 (including cats and dogs). Her dad was (and has been for 30 years) the mayor of Buchanan which gives her immense pride. She earned her degree in Agricultural Economics at North Dakota State University and earned her Master’s in Business Administration and Management at University of Mary. She notes the most helpful skill she learned during her college years is the art of negotiation (which has served her well as a wife and mother!).
Having two boys to keep tabs on, Jacy’s family is extremely important to her. Her oldest enjoys basketball, while her youngest enjoys playing the piano and guitar. Her husband supports all of her crazy ideas while also being a servant leader who grows the hearts and skills of kids every day as a 3rd-grade teacher.
Growing and learning as a photographer is her favorite hobby! She enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing games and fishing in the summer months. Her favorite thing in life is to serve as a connector. Relationships are important and so is being able to connect people to the resources they need to succeed!
The core of her “WHY” is freedom. Having served in the military for 26 years, she enjoys the ability to give back in ways she hasn’t had the ability to until now! She has three mantras that she feels can make all the difference in life: (1) do the right thing; (2) exude kindness, a.k.a. don’t be a jerk; and (3) teamwork makes the dream work!
Jacy’s life tip? Always take the photo! Memories may fade but photos will always help to remind us of those beautiful moments worth remembering.
