Liz Loos
Liz grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. She moved to Louisiana for graduate school and traveled to northeastern North Dakota every spring for her research on nesting ducks. She gave up her fall migration in 2013, when she moved to Bismarck permanently. She received her undergraduate degree at Chatham University in Environmental Science, her Master’s in Ornithology at Louisiana State University and her PhD in Environmental and Evolutionary Biology at University of Louisiana.
She enjoys spending time with her husband, Frank, and son, Gus, their two dogs and four cats. She loves doing anything on the Missouri River with her family – kayaking, paddle-boarding, exploring sandbars – as well as hiking and birdwatching. You can also often spot her at a live concert. Music is always on in her house and car because it brings her “indescribable joy and energy.”
Liz came to Hatch Realty after a career in the nonprofit world. In conservation, she worked to preserve special places with the belief that time in nature feeds our soul. Her human rights work was fueled by the core belief that each of us wants the same things: to live, love, and thrive. Real estate allows her to shift her focus to helping individuals live the life they want. It is an honor for her to help others find their perfect home to make memories with loved ones. And when it’s time to sell your home, she’ll help you through that process with care and efficiency.
Liz’s Fun Fact: Ducks return to their homes, too! Referred to as philopatry, a female duck may return to the same little grass nest she made each spring to lay her eggs.
