Mark grew up in Brooklyn Park, Minn., a suburb of Minneapolis. In high school, his nickname was “Tiny” – probably due to his 6’4” stature – and we’d like to think he was a pretty stand-up guy considering he was voted homecoming king … twice. (We didn’t even know that was possible!) Mark went off to college at the University of Iowa (go, Hawks!) where he got his bachelor’s degree in Communications with an emphasis in Media.
Before joining Hatch Realty, Mark took on a number of roles and career paths, including bartender, mortgage loan officer, regional manager for a title/closing company, and even a broker for bus charters.
All the while, Mark’s early love for real estate couldn’t be ignored. Mark bought his first home at 23 years old – none too soon – after many childhood years of begging his parents to go to open houses and the Parade of Homes whenever possible. He always loved looking at other people’s homes!
Mark and his wife, Lisa, have 3 young daughters – Avery, Riley, and Maddy. He says, “These 4 ladies and our bougie Goldendoodle, Koda, are everything to me.”
When he’s not working, Mark is a man of adventure. He loves traveling, going for walks with Koda, working out in his home gym, hanging out with the wonderful folks in his neighborhood, dining at new and fave restaurants, going to festivals and fairs, and attending any and everything his girls are involved in. Oh! And he loves to read … sometimes.
Mark’s Why is his family and wants to ensure money is never a concern. Better yet, his career is just one vehicle to show his girls the world and teach them how to make it a better place every day.
